The buds are blossoming, the breeze is getting ever so slightly balmier, the pandemic is lifting. I am ready to have us bring our voices together in person, and so are you!
In the ten years that I have been leading improvisational singing circles for people of all skill levels and backgrounds, it has brought me immense joy to facilitate spaces in which people get to merge the roles of audience and participant to create this ecstatic experience.
The paths that brought improvisation into my classical choral practice were theater improv, and hip hop freestyle ciphers. I was in awe of the spontaneous, transcendent magic that emerged from their creative fellowship, and have tapped into that spirit of play with my own body of work as an artist-facilitator.
It has been an interesting, sometimes frustrating, eye-opening, and ultimately rewarding journey for this analog girl to learn new ways to connect with you all on a larger scale through social media. I’ve had folks from Japan, Australia, Switzerland, and all 50 states join me for the monthly Open Sings I hosted, the Insight Timer livestreams, Voke, the Ecstatic Vocal Journey workshops, and so many more events.
I am also grateful for all the 1:1 clients I’ve served as I expand my practice into the mindfulness, vocal embodiment, and integrative coaching space.
I still have five slots available for Voke 1:1 Six Session Series, for you who are called to the opening up of your spirit through creative connection. If you have already tried the psychological, clinical approach to developing a more joyful, authentic life, but you’re more interested in tapping into your expressive, playful, and inspirational impulses, come to me.
